Spring organizing: One of the best places to start your spring home refresh is in your kitchen.

Spring is a great time to clean and organize your kitchen for the change in season. Doing this twice a year will keep your space efficient and functional.

Time to go beyond the daily/weekly upkeep and do a deep clean by wiping down the backsplash, cabinets and doors. Scrub your microwave, stovetop, sink and inside of the refrigerator!

After deep cleaning, start with the refrigerator and pantry and throw out any expired food. Don’t forget to check your spices.

Once you have eliminated items, it’s time to organize. One of my favorite organizing systems for the pantry is a Lazy Susan. It will give you easy access and visibility to your oils, sauces and canned foods.

Baskets are a great way to separate nuts, crackers and other snack items. Having everything organized and visible helps with food preparation and shopping lists.

Do you have a spice system? There are so many great organizing options and places to store them in your pantry, countertop, cupboard or drawer, depending on what works best in your space.

Next, tackle your drawers and cupboards and get rid of those items you still haven’t used since last spring! If you don’t have anything to let go of, make sure everything is organized well with like-items, so they are easier to find.

Keeping your kitchen clean and organized will boost your mood and save you time and money!
